Mexico Guide Wins in London! The Best in the World, 2007

Add Mexico City to the list of great culinary capitals! Good Food in Mexico City: A Guide to Food Stalls, Fondas and Fine Dining, by IACP member Nicholas Gilman won in the guide category on April 13 in London at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards. It took third place, competing with finalists from 10 other countries. 107 countries entered books in this awards contest. The guide is also available in French as La Bonne Bouffe â Mexico.

2007 Gourmand World Media Awards

Congratulations to Kate McGhie, IACP International Committee Vice-Chair, for winning the "Best in the World" award for first cookbook for "Cook: Recipes, Stories and Kitchen Wisdom" at the 2007 Gourmand World Media Awards. Pasión por el Café wins Gourmand Award

We are very happy and proud to announce that Pasión por el Café, written by IACP member Patricia McCausland, has won the Gourmand World Cookbook Award for "Best Single Subject" in Latin America. The book will now be competing for the "Best in the World" Award. The results will be announced on April 7 in Beijing, China.

Patricia is of Colombian origin but moved to Panama seven years ago and is an active member of the Panamanian IACP group. She is passionate about coffee and travelled the coffee plantation regions of Colombia and Panama while conducting research for this book.

Her first book, Secrets of Colombian Cooking, was published in the United States after she met her agent during the 2002 IACP Conference in San Diego.

IACP Board Director Scott Givot wins Norway's "Top Ten" Award

”Top Ten” Winners 2006 is Made Official Today
An election of international role models within the Norwegian society

“Top Ten” profiles progressive international men and women who have settled in Norway. For the third year in a row, we have chosen to shine the spotlight on positive and inspiring role models from within the Norwegian community life and work milieu.

An independent jury has chosen the ten winners out of a group of 20 well qualified candidates (10 women and 10 men). These again were derived from a pool of 50 nominated persons, all considered first rate contributors to Norwegian culture. This year’s winners cover a spectrum of roles from professor and arbitrator to architect and environmental activist, nurse, governmental advisor, corporate manager, entrepreneur, chi gong master, politician, food author, author, environmental therapist and security and surveillance expert. The ten come to Norway from their home countries of Somalia, Wales, Italy, Austria, China, Benin, Iran, Pakistan, USA and Gambia.

This project is carried out with the help from the Directorate for Integration and Diversity and is administrated by the Association of International Professional and Business Women. Top Ten is a development initiated by Lisa Cooper and Irmelin Drake.
